Yum! That sounds good! I did notice that the yogurt tastes a bit like sour cream but with more of a wang. Thank you!

I use in place of sour cream and it was the same to me. On top of chilli for example. It also matters what brand. I tried chiobani and HATED it! Was too strong. I use fage now and love it! It has a much milder flavor. So not all Greek yogurts are created equal lol. I use in in place of cream or Mayonnaise sometimes. I made a Soup today that I wanted I make 'creamy' so I stirred in some Greek yogurt at the end. I also make a good home made ranch dressing with Greek yogurt, tiny bit of LF mayo, garlic powder, milk and black pepper. It's way better then any dressing in the bottle I've ever had. It's also great in tuna and chicken salad as mentioned. Experiment and you'll find lots of uses :)

I have the Chobani kind and when I tasted it, it made me cringe. I will have to look for the Fage brand. I've never heard of it before. Does Wal-Mart carry it?

Tons of interesting recipes I want to try on this blog.

Frozen Protein Drops

A quick and easy, weight loss surgery friendly frozen Protein snack...

Shelly's Frozen Protein Yogurt (or Pudding) Drops

1/2 cup Greek Yogurt (or sugar free Pudding)

3-4 Tablespoons (to taste) of any Protein Powder

Mix together till well combined. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and drop tablespoons of the mixture (yields about 25 drops)

Protein%2Bdrops%2B5.jpgor fill an ice cube tray.

protein%2BDrops%2B8.jpgFreeze till solid about 2 hours. Store in the freezer (up to a week or so) and pop a few in your mouth whenever you want a frozen protein treat or add to smoothies for an extra protein boost instead of ice.

protein%2Bdrops%2B9.jpgIn this batch I used Celebrate ENS in strawberry & chocolate Milk. I had weight loss surgery in one of the hottest summers on record. I would have LOVED these that summer. I kept hearing the music of the ice cream truck driving by the house and it about drove me nuts.

1cup of plain greek yogurt

1/2 cup of either 1% milk or buttermilk

1 packet of hidden valley ranch dressing mix (dressing mix NOT dip mix)

blend with hand mixer and you have awesome low fat low cal ranch dressing.

not sure on the buttermilk, but if you use 1% it has 255 calories and less than 2 grams of fat in the entire almost 16 oz jar or ranch dressing! mmm mmm good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
