Day 7 And Can Drink As Much As I Want

Recommended Posts

I can drink normal. No gas, no pain at all. I take sips pretty much but a lot bigger than I was expecting at this point. Anyone else like this? I can drink a shake in 30 to 40 minutes. Happy about it but thought I'd be feeling some restriction. No hunger ever though which is good and I've stuck with shakes and crystal light all week. Been satisfied.

I am 4 weeks out today and the same way. I feel it has helped with my healing process and getting all my fluids. I don't know if any of it has to do with the size they made your stomach. Mine was a 36 . I am so grateful that I can drink so well and have been eating well without hungry.

I can't wait for the future months to see where this all goes. I have not been tired since the first couple of weeks. Good luck to you.

I agree with the quicker healing. Been getting 75 grams of Protein easy a day and more than enough fluids. Just wanted to see if its normal or not. Not even craving the next stage really but I'm sure some food tastes will be good

You are one of the fortunate ones. So am I. I never experienced any notable restriction to liquids. Everything went down pretty easy till I got to soft foods, then I felt it.

That's good to hear. Its like you are happy you can drink no problem but you want proof that they took your stomach out. Lol hopefully next week my restriction comes.

I'm so glad I'm not alone! Just last night I was wondering why I can drink so quickly all of the sudden! I'm 6 days out now. I was even trying to 'test' myself and taking big drinks. I'm kind of hoping for puréed restriction a bit. Guess ill see here in another week.

What will be hard is not wanting to speed phases up because we feel good.

I'm noticing now I can drink more and take way bigger sips. I'm 5 days out. I was terrified to sip in the beginning but today I found myself takin several big sips without thinking and then got scared and waited for pain and luckily it didn't come lol. I hope I start feeling restriction when I hog mushies though. I'm glad I'm able to get liquids in with no restriction but I want to feel it with food lol

I am almost 3 months out and I can not tolerate Water of any kind, flavored, hot warm or cold, ..it really feels me up and it pains me.... I am lucky if I can drink 8-16 oz of water a day. I do drink 2 shakes a day to help with fluids.

I just keep trying and hope that I will be able to drink my 64 oz in the near future.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
