Post Surgery Compliments

Recommended Posts

My date is dec 17th! I am really excited and nervous too. I work in retail and have reoccurring customers, how do you guys feel comfortable answering the question: "You look great, how are you loosing all the weight?" I'm not sure i want to tell everyone especially people I don't know that I had surgery. Any advice?

My weight-loss of been gradual so I'm not getting a lot of questions. I have had two guys at my job compliment my losses. I just say thank you. One female my job who I do not like at all asked me what I was doing she's not a friend and she's a gossiper so I told her that I was eating less and working out. More of a low carb approach. I have not hid my surgery for my family for my close friends. I don't care what people think I don't want everyone in my business.

I have not had the surgery, I'm still in the "wanting it done" stage. ;)

But this topic is one that constantly runs through my mind. I know of two women at work that have had gastric bypass done and they are both very open about it, and I can't recall ever hearing anyone snickering behind their backs, everyone in our office has seemed rathe supportive. I just don't know how I feel about it personally. I know that if I chose to tell a few selected people the truth, it will eventually come out to the whole office. News spreads like wildfire amongst our cubicals! HA! So, I'm thinking it might be in my best interest to be honest up front. While I KNOW it's no ones business, I think I like the idea of vein able to be open and honest about it. Hiding something that I am so excited about and (hopefully) very proud of would be a shame!

;)

I like to say "Thank you- I'm just eating healthy and exercising." Which is true! If they query further I will tell them "lots of low fat protien and good carbs". Because if you say high protien/low carbs it usually leads to an Atkins diet debate...no thanks : )

I have told my family and close friends I don't mind talking about it but for the people I don't know who may ask in not sure i was to tell them my business, I'm sure when the day I have my surgery I will say what I feel is comfortable for me. Thank you all for the suggestions!

Just tell people that you are on a diet. If they know you had some sort of surgery tell them that your doctor is making you stick to a very strict diet because of your surgery. So many people gain and lose weight all the time that everyone will accept that explanation.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
