OneWritersSoul 353 Posted November 18, 2012 I've been using the MyFitnessPal app to track everything since before my surgery. I started two weeks prior, so it was my meals and my liquid diet. Then it was my liquid phase, full liquid phase, and now my puréed phase. I make sure to track my walks every evening. I put down my weight when I weigh in. If I try a new food, I track that as well. I'm so OCD! Still, I'm receiving messages DAILY that my calorie intake is too low and my body is in starvation mode! And when I finish my log every night it tells me in five weeks I will weigh X number of pounds
OneWritersSoul 353 Posted November 18, 2012 ... But the amount that I will supposedly weigh in 5 weeks keeps going up not down! What am I doing wrong?! It's driving me crazy and I'm really starting to stress about it! Any advice or ideas? Thanks in advance!

To the point some days I don't even log workouts coz it pisses me off. So don't stress over it it's been telling me I'd be 205 in 5 weeks for the past 6 weeks shah I'm 222 lmao. Readytolose2012 88 Posted November 18, 2012 It depends on what you have you daily caloric goal listed as. You can adjust that in your profile settings. I have mine set on 700 and of course it tells me that everyday because normal people should be eating more than 700 calories a day. I'm lucky to even get 700 !! As you progress you will need to watch your Protein staying around 60 grams and the rest will take care of itself. 1 ArtSong reacted to this
MammasMelting 35 Posted November 18, 2012 I was going to say you need to adjust your calorie intake as well in the settings. It keeps going up on the weight because if your calories are set to say 1300.00, and you get 500...yes according to it you are starving...and therefore when you "starve" your body stores the fat...and you tend to "gain". It should be an easy fix for ya. Try that and let us know.
OneWritersSoul 353 Posted November 18, 2012 I will try the changes you all suggested. Thank you very much! ????

Dooter 1,457 Posted November 18, 2012 Ya, it told me i was starving to death every day for 9 months. I just began to ignore it. It doesn't know my surgeon told me to keep to 800 calories. And the projected weight thing? PAH!! It can't account for everyone's body oddities.
fluffylibra30 323 Posted November 18, 2012 Yeah don't listen to MFP, it's just a computer doing what it thinks is its job. If you are eating on track to what you and your doc say you should be at dont even sweat it. Ignore and go on.

Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted November 23, 2012 We're working on adding capabilities to our site and app which are similar to MFP. It's designed with Gastric Sleeve and other Bariatric members in mind. Do you have any suggestions on features you're unhappy with or would like to see changed or added within MFP ? 2 Brandywine and Questions? reacted to this
doxieville 799 Posted November 23, 2012 Yes! If possible, to disable or change the exercise settings. I don't like the way it deducts calories from the total. 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this

I agree that I would love to not have the calories from fitness taken out of my daily totals. MFP does allow you to adjust your daily goals but only to a percentage of other things. I would love to just say My Protein goal is this, carb goal is that. But I just got a fitbit so please integrate it with that! 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
