Lost, Stressed, :(

Recommended Posts

I was all about the sleeve until my dr (military hospital) seems not that involved with my procedure and moved it from Nov 30 to sometime in January because he stated that the hospital is busy and due to the holidays as well. This remark from him made me really nervous because I need a surgeon who is 100 percent about me and my wls. Now I am thinking of moving towards the Bypass and finding a doctor that works mainly with wls. I was so excited but Im just afraid that the dr and the military hospital wont give me the support that I need after surgery, I barely get any support now I do all the foot work on my own.

I'd do a lot more research before deciding to do a bypass. Too many public failures of the bypass. How many stars have we seen eat right through a bypass? I have a relative that used to weigh 400 lbs and got the bypass and got skinny, then turned around and gained it all back plus more. Stretched that puppy right out. From what I've learned, you can never stretch the sleeve to the size of your original stomach, or even close. Just sayin'...

But yes. You need a doc that is FOR you.

Hi dooter thanks for the feed back but I also found out that the sleeve does change overtime and it depends on the person.

"Stretching of the stomach often results in additional problems other than inadequate weight loss or weight regain. The tube of the stomach may stretch in a manner that is not uniform, resulting in portions of the stomach tube being larger than others. This can cause the stomach to become shaped like an hourglass, where both the upstream and downstream portions of the stomach are large, but they are separated by a portion of the stomach that is fairly narrow. While eating may not increase as a result of a stretched stomach tube, it may cause uncomfortable and/or disordered eating. Depending on the volume of food a patient consumes at each meal and the symptoms they have, there are a couple of revision options that all result in food flowing more directly through the stomach." This is not routine but a complication. I'd want to better understand what causes this.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
