Recommended Posts

I am craving some Pasta and I've been trying to find a low-carb alternative. Has anyone tried this before?

Yes, it taste just like regular Pasta. Much better than whole wheat pasta in my opinion.

I love Dreamfields Pasta. I started buying it a couple years ago when I was low carbing and have never turned back. I was leary when my NUT suggested it, but it tastes & feels like reg. Pasta. Most super markets carry it now & if you search Ebay you can prob. find a 55cent off coupon that many stores will double! (I know they were in my local paper a couple weeks ago).

Do you have links to any of these studies? I can't find any.

Hi,

http://www.dietdoctor.com/the-dreamfields-pasta-fraud

Looking now for the other testers on the blood sugar effects. Will post them too id you want me to.

I was low carbing very successfully until I started with this Pasta. It would mess up my ketosis faster than a potato would.

Still love the taste of it though so we eat it but not expecting it to be low carb.

I love Dreamfields! It is a low(er) carb option than regular white flour Pasta but it's not TERRIBLY lower. it's not like it has no carbs or anything... It didn't make me GAIN weight but I didn't lose weight eating it either. Great for a maintenance phase or when you feel like being bad but don't want to have to spend the next WEEk trying to get back to where you were before you decided you could eat white flour.

Well, crap. I found a box at the Commissary and picked it up. I guess I'll just make it for the family and I'll eat something else.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
