Just wondering if you are drinking too close to your meals of actual food?

I was having the exact same issue and I nearly got down over always feeling nauseated - my NUT told me I was drinking too close to food- and she was correct!

Maybe try to move it out to an hour before and after meals, that solved the issue for me :-)

Sounds like you are dehydrated. Are you sipping Water all day long? If not please start. Keep your water bottle with you at all times and keep sippin"!!

Ohh, you sound just like me! I was also sleeved on 10/22 and I've had a lot of problems with nausea. I would wake up, drink Breakfast, and feel sick for 3 hours until it was gone. One thing that my surgeon's office did was get me some strong anti nausea medication to take 24/7. It helped immensely and while I'm not taking it all the time now, it was invaluable until my body healed a little more.

Another thing I did was listen to what my body wanted to eat, and for me? Well, that's meant that I haven't been drinking a lot of Protein drinks (clear or shakes) because for some reason after surgery my taste buds were just revolted by it :( Get some good quality unflavored Protein powder and mix it in with your food or try to find drinks you can stand to blend it in (for me, hot chocolate!).

If it sounds like it would taste good, it probably will. If the thought of it makes you want to hurl, it probably will. It does get better, though.

I had this problem too. I was hospitalized for a week week 3. All the nausea meds didn't help, BUT when I stopped eating/drinking dairy it went away and I've felt great since. Not saying you have a lactose intolerance but a lot of sleevers do. I am one of them. I even tried some cheese spread a few days ago and felt sick almost immediately. It also could just be dehydration and/or low thiamine. Try increasing fluids first that's most important (even over Protein right now) and if that doesn't work cut down your dairy and see if that does the trick. My dr told me to drink Gatorade until I was getting in my fluids. I hope you feel better I've been there!

I hope you talk to your doctor right away. I'm concerned that you felt great up until day 10...and there are still things that can happen, small leaks, stricture, etc. Not to scare you of course, but you definately want to rule those things out so you know it's just a matter of drinking etc.

I was nauseous from day one. But after a few weeks it's gotten much better. Too good in fact, i feel like i can almost ingest anything and won't feel really bothered. I need to be lactose intolerant; cheese is my nemesis!! LOL.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Have u tried chewing ice? I since my surgery Oct 9th and it gets me thru when I'm really nauseous and even my meds don't help. I used to drink hot chamomile tea, but for some weird reason even that makes me nauseous. Ice helps me!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
