Is Vodka A Clear Liquid? Lol

Recommended Posts

My surgery was rescheduled for Monday, which is a few days earlier than originally scheduled. This happened today and I can't stop crying. I'm exhausted and can't sleep because I know when I do I'll be that much closer. I knew this would happen, it's my cycle of panic disorder, but I thought I'd be able to tune it out. I also started spotting today...awesome timing for emotional crap right? Any advice to get me through my 2 clear liquid days, the tears, and fears?

Just think of the journey you've been on to get here and why you are doing this in the first place. Think about what next week, next month, next year will be like for you.

A shot of vodka won't kill you :)

I should pull a few of your posts and remind you why you are doing this :) You are committed, you've studied the issue, you know this is what's right for you silly girl. So go forward, embrace your fear...it's healthy! And pop us out a note when you're ready to sit on this comfy little pillow I made you on the losers bench :P

Thanks you guys. I'm very aware of how ridiculous my anxiety makes me think, and how much it makes me act like a fool lol. I think it'd be easier if I was oblivious and just thought my crazy reactions were normal ;)

I really appreciate your words. I've done 6 months of pre-op stuff and months of researching before that, I know I want and more importantly NEED this, it's just scary. Oh well, between Xanax and stress induced sleeping I think Monday will be here and gone before I know it :)

If you weren't nervous about this big step my dear...I'd think you were a dork.

Don't chase the xanax with vodka :P

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
