joe_cltnc 7 Posted November 16, 2012 It's been a long process to finally arrive at this point! When you're months away it's hard to imagine the day will finally come. I've struggled with making sure I am emotionally ready for this huge change - what it would feel like to have 1/4 of a stomach, what it would be like to (possibly) not eat Pasta or rice again, or not drink with a meal. It's been a challenge to "get my head around that". But I also know that I dont want to live like this anymore...and I believe this is a permanent tool to help me do that. I'm excited, but REALLY nervous. Once it's done, it's done! 1 mike010906 reacted to this
ronlee 4 Posted November 16, 2012 I agree with your thinking! My surgery is on Monday, Nov 19th. Today has been difficult because I'm reading all these posts of people being miserable and regretful. But I have to remember that 90% of the posts on this sight are positive and thankful for being sleeved. 2 lizv123 and mike010906 reacted to this
Darla5060 68 Posted November 16, 2012 Joe and Ronlee...this is the best thing I've ever done for myself! My husband had the surgery, too, five months after me, and he's doing great, too. Don't be nervous about what you can't eat - you most likely won't even want to eat that food anymore anyway! I did have regret for a couple of days after surgery, but it went away...it's just such a life-changing thing that I feared the massive changes. It took me a month to get my head in a good place after surgery, and it's been smooth ever since. I love having lost 100 pounds! I would never trade this for any food in the world. Good luck, and have fun on this new and exciting journey! 1 mike010906 reacted to this

The important thing to remember is that we are ALL here to support one another and while it can sound scary, most people's intentions are good and just want to prepare us or the what ifs that we may not have heard of. :-)
