I agree with being kind to our sleeves. I regret so much what I have done ... And it makes it hard to control after you get into the habit of overeating again.

Whatever happened it was because I was really overeating, pushing food down.

I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but said behavior could lead to bulimic tendencies later on. I understand how bad the vomiting sensation makes us feel. Eating just under sleeve capacity will help.

Those 2 links that you posted is what I believe to be true. I also believe that over time the stomach empties faster, which makes it possible to eat more soon after completing a meal. I guess the moral of the story would be to be kind to your sleeve and not over do it when it comes to eating.

I feel like there is some merit to this. Maybe more stomach acids? I though about taking a PPI for a few days just to see what happens. I stopped taking them long ago. If you stop the acid the food might take longer to digest? I will test that starting tomorrow. I am 17 months out, and I can eat ALOT more! I find that it can go through me much faster. I still eat and then get full, but the time in which I am hungry again is much shorter than before.

Yashi, you have posted several times now that you vomit daily? This concerns me. Are you vomiting because you are eating too much which results in vomiting, are you physically making yourself vomit, or is there some sort of another problem? You should definitely not be doing this, and I would like to be able to offer you some assistance, but need to understand your issues a bit better first. If you prefer, you can respond to me via pm.

You need to measure your portions then and cut back on sizes.

Making yourself vomit will do lots of damage. How much do you eat in a sitting?

I am with you on Doxieville. I dont think it is possible. If you ate that much food, you had to feel miserable....Just calm down, and restart the process...it will work if you let it. Watch your portion sizes, and get back on track...I know you can do it! Stay encouraged...everyone falls but you just have to get back up and try again! Keep us posted on what the doctor in Usa says! Good luck

Honestly, I'd go back to the basics. Ms. diva has a boot camp, or pouch test, or something like that. It helps people kinda reset themselves. I'm sure someone else can give you more info.

And yes, our stomachs can hold more as we get further out, which is why it's so important to do our homework and learn how to eat correctly during the time when we are restricted.

Good luck!

How do you get back to the basics?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
