bubles089 35 Posted November 16, 2012 I actually haven't mentioned it to my doctor yet, I know they will just say i need more Water even though I'm drinking all I can. I figured I would mention it at my next apt. I waited a month after my surgery to go back to work. I have a very physically demanding job in a hospital. I Listen to my body and if I know that's a bad day I take extra precautions like holding on to something if I have to stand up or straiten up to fast. I also don't over extend my self like i use to. I ask for help when lifting a patient when I never use to. I ask for help if I have a very heavy assignment or know I have been busting my ass to much because I know that will make it worse. I take my blood pressure twice a week and its still the same 120/70 as before surgery. It never hurts to call your doctor. I was very weak for the first month post op. it wasn't until the past 3 weeks I have felt my energy return to me. Good luck 1 AaronRene14 reacted to this

AaronRene14 18 Posted November 16, 2012 Looked it up on webmd... they are saying anemic... so anyone have a quick source for Iron?
PerfectlyImperfect 49 Posted November 16, 2012 It sounds like low sugar. I went through something similar lasted a week. I had to had a form of sugar to my daily diet. I added OJ. I started feeling better after a few days. 1 AaronRene14 reacted to this
Jenipher 28 Posted November 16, 2012 I think it's probably your Iron. You should ask your dr about your Iron levels. After surgery my dr told me I was anemic and I have to take iron supplements now. I feel so much better. We try to get the proper nutrients but with not being able to eat so much it can be difficult to get enough for our bodies. Keep trying and just talk to your dr about iron. I hope things get better for you. Your bodies still adjusting. 1 AaronRene14 reacted to this
Izuri 428 Posted November 16, 2012 Do you measure your blood pressure? If you haven't, try measuring it when you lay down vs when you sit/stand up. It sounds to me a little like orthostatic hypotension (BP drop when you move from laying down to sitting/standing) just from the description you gave. It could also be anemia like you mentioned. I was very anemic when I was a teenager and it has most of the same symptoms of orthostatic hypotension - dizziness, light headed, etc. Are the insides of your eyelids pale? The beds of your nails? Are you paler than normal in general? Anyway, I'd definitely talk to your doctor, which it sounds like you're gonna do. Until then - be real careful every time you stand up. Feel better! 1 AaronRene14 reacted to this
AaronRene14 18 Posted November 16, 2012 Called my surgeon today, waiting on a call back, so far today i doubled up my daily Multivitamin (just in case), ive gotten almost 2 Water bottles in so far as well as some sonny D (for sugar), started the morning with a Protein bar to make sure to get some Protein in (also had an egg today) which has (Protein Bar not the egg) 15& DV of Iron as well as Biotin... symptoms remain the same, however tunnel vision can be added. May be worth mentioning that pre-surgery i was on a 50,000 unit Vitamin d Vitamin from my gp... discontinued because of surgery, but ive never had these symptoms before so im still unsure what it could be. Could this at all be a result of a leak? i did slime 3 times last night (trying new foods, kinda pushed my limits trying to gauge where im at exactly). again, im unsure of anything, just not sure what it is and definitely not liking this. Lastly, i currently do not have a way to check my bp at home. other then occasionally being a tad on the high side, ive never had bp issues.

My surgery was 11/7 and I can't even get an egg in! Anyway, this is not right. You need to talk to your surgeon. Yeah I get a little light headed when I stand up too fast but nothing else you mention. What's sliming?
Katie713 423 Posted November 16, 2012 Doesn't sound like a leak to me, but if your blood pressure is bottoming out, something could be going on internally. If you feel worse, please go on in to urgent care this weekend, at least you can find out immediately if your blood pressure has plummeted. Our bodies "tell" us when things aren't right, and you have to follow your instincts. Do you have anyone taking care of you at home?

Yeah I get a little light headed when I stand up too fast but nothing else you mention. What's sliming? lots and LOTS and then even more lots of chewing... its pretty chewy like, not one of those rough ones, and was about 1.3 oz. to be honest, it had more Protein and was a hell of a lot easier then the scrambled egg i had. in my understaning, sliming is from eating too much or something getting stuck, you start creating slime to try and get it down, could be as simple as that or in my case, wanting to vommit but cant, lots of burping, intensifying that want to vommit, feeling something stuck... not a good feeling, though sometimes like the first time it happened to me it wasnt too bad just slimey mouth... AaronRene14 18 Posted November 16, 2012 Just got off the phone with the doctor, they would like me to go down to the ER to get some blood drawn, bp checked etc. however, i just thought, could this be from drinking propel zero Water? i ran out of plain Water bottles 2 days ago and so almost all of my water intake has been from the propel water... can it be that simple? Katie713 423 Posted November 16, 2012 I keep a battery operated BP cuff at home and use it often. For awhile my BP was very high at times, especially during the pre-op process. My primary asked that I record my BP daily for a few months while we worked on a combination of meds to bring it to normal readings. It cost me about $20 and it is digital and works on the wrist. You might want to have someone pick one up for you so that you can get a reading, it might help to at least know where you stand with your BP. Your sliming is an indication your stomach was not ready for the food item, or it is very hard to make it's way down the esophagus into your sleeved stomach. Pull back on the Protein bar and even the eggs if they make you slime and go back to a more pureed consistency and see if that helps. Sliming is NO FUN. Hope you feel better this weekend!! 1 AaronRene14 reacted to this
Katie713 423 Posted November 16, 2012 Good glad you are going to the ER. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!! And no - I do not think Propel Water would have any bearing on how you are feeling. 1 AaronRene14 reacted to this

Thanks, the reason i think it is because my NUT said that any liquid can be counted as oz's towards your Water goal as long as it does not contain caffine... and one of the things this propel is advertising is energy... though i have not seen caffine mentioned anywhere on the bottle. sent for some normal Water bottles, going to start drinking normal water and see if it can be that... i will feel so stupid if it is. as for the sliming, its mostly my fault, my nut says i can have some (insert type of food here) and i take it as i can have a whole serving of that even when my nut specifically said i would most likely not be able to finish 1/4 of a serving... tortillas for example, i tried to have a small quesadilla yesterday, when my nut told me i probly wouldnt be able to finish 1/4 of a tortilla, again the sliming is mostly my fault for trying to advance sooner then i should
