tommyd 125 Posted November 15, 2012 I'm nine days post op. I have a bad case of gout. My surgeon allows me to take pain meds but no anti-inflamatory meds. How do you handle gout. I can't walk and want to exercise as much as possible. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Terry H. 196 Posted November 15, 2012 Tommy, I took allopurinol to control my gout for years. The good news longer term for you is that gout is often resolved by wls. I've stopped taking it completely now and am hoping mine is gone. I did have one minor glare up and took Tylenol to help reduce the swelling.
