When Did You Eat Pizza?

Recommended Posts

I have had pizza a few times. I am three months post-op. I think I had pizza for the first time maybe like 6 or 7 weeks post op. Luckily, my sleeve process was a breeze. I've never thrown up, it took me a couple days to recover, and I can eat anything I want.

I'm down 90 pounds in three months and I'm currently 254. I say eat what you want as long as you work it into your calorie budget and work out.

Lolly,

Girl! There are sharks on these boards and when they see you talking about pizza, doritos, etc.. they smell the blood in the Water and you are toast!! :) As for me, I had this surgery so I could live like a normal person, eating normal portions and end my dieting, food obsession nightmare. I am not living my life on Protein shakes. That said, I still have to have a Protein shake everyday to get all my Protein in because I am only 2 months out. I am a lucky one who has a sleeve of steel and have only barfed once and I think I ate too fast and didn't chew well enough. I tolerate everything. I ate a very small piece of thin crust delight pizza from papa murphys at about 6 weeks. I was full. It was great, I used to eat 4-5 pieces to feel full before.

OH THANK GOD!! I love hearing that someone else was able to eat a piece of pizza! I have been able to eat a slice BUT I log it, I am making myself accountable for everything I eat. I understand people saying it is not one of the best choices you can make for food but not everyone needs to be perfect everyday!

Do you mean to say you scrape off all the toppings and not eat any crust or you eat to the end of the flat part of a piece of pizza?

I had pizza at 12 weeks when i was allowed bread. My NUT sayds it is a great thing for us to eat, cuz we get Proteins, veggies and starches. Naturally, stick to one piece (not huge either), and don't eat the outer crust (You can eat the crust underneath, the flkat part)

I love hearing how satisfying only one piece is. I also got this surgery to end a my bad relationship wih food, but it is very important to me to be able to eat foods I love (and can tolerate) in moderation. It will be so nice to be ok wih just a single slice!!

I try to stay away from any bread or carbs like that. Protein is my friend too. If I make pizza, I make it on a Mission Carb balance tortilla.

There is a place here in Md called Gentlemen Jims and it has the best pizza I've ever tasted. I've been hooked since 1995. I think for my birthday in July I'm gonna get a small pizza from then. That should be plenty of time, 7 mos out. All this pizza talk is making me want one although Sleevie Wonder couldnt handle It lol

I eat the whole slice not scrapping the toppings off. Just throw the crust out. It's to filling. I don't have any toppings on the pizza.< /p>

I am 3 months out and I can eat a small amount of just about anything, except bread....... And pizza dough and flour tortillas are the worse. Funny thing is a week after surgery I started having a craving for pizza, and I still can't have any.

I am 3 weeks out from surgery and all I crave is pizza...

pizza isn't mentioned specifically on my post op diet (probably cause its not exactly a health food) but I was just curious if/when some of you had a slice?

I am a pizza Lover and I tried some raw pepperoni 3 weeks out and threw up too greasy and ate them 2 fast ugghh! Then I ate a half slice 2 months out and I was fine but a week later I started feeling nauseous so Im done with pizza! So I talked to my doc and he said it was prob the pepperoni so she said if I eat pizza make sure its vegetarian!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
