When Did You Eat Pizza?

This is probably still not for on the stage you are on' date=' but I made this pre-VSG and it was quite good! It might be something for you to look at once you're in a regular food stage. Also I heard the cauliflower crust pizzas are good too, I am planning on trying once I get past soft stage into regular foods. Good luck.

Where's The Crust pizza

Prep Time: | Cook Time: | Servings: | Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients:

Crust

1 (8 oz) package of full fat cream cheese, room temperature

2 eggs

1/4 tsp ground black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Topping

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

toppings - pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, peppers

Garlic powder

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Lightly spay a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray. With a handheld mixer, mix cream cheese, eggs, pepper, garlic powder and parmesan cheese until combined. Spread into baking dish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, our until golden brown. Allow crust to cool for 10 minutes.

Spread pizza sauce on crust. Top with cheese and toppings. Sprinkle pizza with garlic powder. Bake 8-10 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Doxie, I saw your post here and in the past and you were not even remotely on my mind when I made the "shark" comment. Sorry if it sounded like it was directed at you I should have phrased it nicer. You are always a great support to me and others- thank you! There are others who I feel like pounce on any post where they feel like people are "cheating" on their new sleeve diet and I am one who is never going to diet again but just eat a healthy balance so I get defensive of those who make us feel guilty for not following their plan.

The cauliflower crusts I've made before get firm but not exactly hard. But if you don't want carbs but DO want pizza, it's pretty awesome. I also used cauliflower in place of rice quite often. Yummy!

Oh and I didn't think you were a "shark". I can see how my posts seemed to contradict each other and you were probably visualizing me hitting up pizza Hut tonight and then crying about not losing any weight tomorrow. :)

And I've learned the hard way about trying new foods and not being at home. Whew!

Hah! I promise I'm sticking to Protein shakes, yogurt and Soups. Not planning on eating pizza anytime soon. I was actually thinking about a nephew's birthday party next month. And no, I don't have a NUT. I went to Mexico for surgery and their post op diet isn't very clear. I get most of my info from this forum.

Very valid point and I probably would have been thinking the same. :)

There is a huge difference between domino's (or the like) pizza, even thin crust, and a really good quality pizza. IMO if I'm going to eat something like pizza, it's going to be a whole wheat crust from a wood fired grill (thin crust because it's easier on your stomach). There are some things I am comfortable never eating again...like hot tamales :P but real food? My change is to make that "real food" healthy real food verses faster food which is loaded with sugar and fat.

The cheese quality between a chain joint and a real pizza is amazing. As is the sauce. Cheap sauces are made with sugar and more than you think, and gad the cheese...you have to blot the dang piece with a paper towel to get rid of the obvious grease...who wants to eat that????

I have had the toppings on good pizza since having the second surgery (that was at about 3 weeks out), but I skipped the crust. I am just now getting to a point where whole wheat Pasta goes down well, though it fills me up quickly. My second doc said to stay away from bread for three months, so that's what I'm doing. After having had a leak I don't want to risk damaging my tummy for a silly thick crust pizza!

I'd consider trying the toppings next month at the party, but that's it. You are still too early for real bread (or anything risen with yeast basically).

Thank you for clearing that up. I didn't take it personally, but i did want to 'clear my name.' ;-) i'd hate for newbies to think that I was in the category of the pouncers. It's been pleasant with no sharks attacking recently, now that i think of it!

LOL! I kinda was seeing that finger itching to order a pizza!! Nah, just kidding. But I WAS concerned because a deep dish pizza so soon could really make you sick!! Not fun.

Iggy and Doxie- whenever I DO eat pizza, it will be a good pizza. Thin wood fired crust, little bit of sauce or just tomatoes, and some quality ingredients. :). I'm looking forward to just ONE piece. (or less) instead of eating half a pizza.

My goal is to try to eat better quality, healthier foods, but also be able to live in the real world. I just want to eat LESS of things I had in the past. I know that limiting myself to low carb or low fat in the past just caused me to go over the edge eventually. I could do it and lose lots of weight but just not long term.

Thanks so much for all of your advice. Pizza toppings sound pretty yummy, Iggy. I used to do that when I was low carbing. .

I was allowed pizza at 12 weeks when i was allowed bread or Pasta. Bread tends to swell and could get stuck in staple line, and that's why my doctor said 12 week cuz it takes 12 weeks for your staple line heal. now when i eat it, I stick to one piece (not huge like Costco!) and don't eat the outside trim crust. Too filling for me.

We have a really great pizza joint like that in my town, it has fresh toppings, the cheese is delicious! Their sausage is amazing! I was 6 months out before I had pizza, but it was worth the wait.

I enjoy Pizza Hut thin crust when we have chain pizza. I can still only eat 1 piece.

My only suggestion is if trying a new food like pizza, make sure you are somewhere comfortable so if you get sick , you not stressed yoo

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
