Feel Like I Can Eat A Buffet!

Recommended Posts

I am 7 months out and I feel like I can eat at an all you can buffet...., no I haven't tried it, but I don't have that full feeling as long as I used to and I feel like I can eat more. Example, I was able to eat about 3 bites of a grilled chicken breast and now I feel like I can eat 3/4 of it plus some veggies. Is this happening to anyone else? Is it stretched? I also haven't lost weight in months! U an starting to worry and get discouraged.

Girl...I am right there with you. I Can eat a lot more food. I guess this is the time to really focus on what we are eating. There are days when I feel the old carb monster creeping back in. This is definitely a struggle. It can be really easy to go super high in my calories. I found tracking helps, I feel really bad and fun myself not wanting to go over 1200 calories a day. I also notice if focus on getting all my fluids in then I'm so focused on that it distracts me from food.

It is really scarey when we discover that we can actually eat more......Your stomach is completely healed now and you will be able to eat more. Now it all depends on the choices that you make to eat. My body slowed way down around month 5. I did continue to lose weight at a slower pace. But now I can eat a child's portion size. I have to make better choices so I tend to chose Proteins first, veggies, and then I'm pretty much done.....But I can eat a lot more food if I eat slider foods, so I'm really working on avoiding those foods. I do have then on a rare occasion. You are doing great so keep it up..... :)

Thank you girls! Ugh. I was so ready to call the doc and find out what was going on! Ugh. I feel the carb monster to and have to fight him off. I try to keep it basic, Protein first then veggies... But I was scared when I noticed I can eat more dense Protein then I had in the past....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
