Sleeping On My Stomach

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved in Las Vegas on 11/5. I naturally sleep on my stomach but haven't been able to since the surgery. With that being said I am not getting enough sleep but I do realize my stomach still needs a lot more healing. When were you able to sleep on your stomach?

Hi dear

I'm new in the forum but I was on the same situation, I was sleeved on 10/22 after a week I was able to sleep on my stomach, don't worry that feeling is normal we just scare, you can try little by little.

Good luck

I slept on my side and stomach night of surgery. Dr told me if I was not in pain then I could. There's a lot of cushion between my actual stomach and my skin. Lol

I was sleeved on 10/24 and still can't sleep on my stomach all night. I may turn over on my stomach during my sleep, but then I start to feel the incisions and I have to sleep on my back or my side. I say listen to your body.

I'm a stomach/side sleeper and I was back to sleeping as normal at about week 3. I slept in my recliner for the first 2 weeks or so. I still sleep with a pillow at my side to support my stomach, though. It just feels better.

I was sleeved on 10/24 and just got to where I can sleep for a bit on my side for the last few nights. It's not quite the same as what I really want to do (I think I do some weird twist thing, I'm really flexible) so it's not as comfortable but at least I'm not flat on my back. If I go too far over I feel my incisions pull a little, so I back off. Whatever you do, be careful; the last thing you need is to injure yourself. For example, I'm a little sore right now because I was bent over weird trying to plug something into the back of my computer at work. It kinda feels like I got punched. So now I'm sitting here at my desk leaving everything alone. lol

It took a good 1-2 weeks til I was even comfortable sleeping on my side. I don't sleep on my stomach a lot, but I would say that the first time I did after surgery was probably about 3 weeks out, and I don't think I really would have been comfortable before that.

I was sleeved on 11/7 and I have been sleeping in my stomach for the last 2 days and it actually makes me sleep better because it feels like it is holding my insides steady... Everyone is different though:)

Slept on my stomach last night. I had the best nights rest since the surgery... Don't remember waking up at all during the night. I feel rejuvenated! It's great to have input from your experiences. Thank you

I had mine done on Wednesday... came home on Friday.... I think Monday or Tuesday.. so less then a week.. my head nurse said as long as it doesn't hurt me I am fine. until then I laid on my side where there was less of an incision and hugged a pillow. I hate sleeping on my back!!!!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
