I've heard that for some when they lose weight their tail bone starts hurting. This has started happen to me too. It feels like my tailbone is pretruding and it hurts when I sit and during sex. I am wondering if this is because our spine/ tailbone adjusts to hold all the extra weight and when we lose it it doesn't adjust back. I am going to bring it up in my next dr appointment, but just wondering if anyone here has had the same problem and what did the doctor said...any info will help!!!

Wow! Hope someone has a answer for this one. My tailbone has been killing me. I never thought it could be related to the surgery.

Mine hurts too when I've been sitting too long, but when I was ten I cracked it, so I've always thought that's why it still hurt when i sit a long time, but maybe not! With all the padding it didn't hurt at all. I like it. It reminds me that my butt is shrinking away!!! ;)

guess im part of this club aswell.. not only the tailbone but also lower back area, tailbone hurts from sitting, back hurts while standing/walking so i stand/walk til that pain outweighs the tailbone then alternate...

It's not my tailbone but my back... Especially if I stand in one spot to long. I'm trying to just push through it with hopes it goes away!

For me it is my back. This is very interesting and most likely not a coincidence...

I talked to my surgeon about it and since I have no pain anywhere else like my stomach he says that it has nothing to do with the surgery... I'm thinking its from the weight shifting and stuff

Thought it was just me ,asked my dr , it's called remodeling our bellies pull an unnatural curve in the spine and the extra padding on our butts protect the end of it. He says it resolves after time ,suggested stretching ,yoga, I have in inversion machine(teter hang-up)that's been helping however I still can't sit on anything unpadded for more than a min.or two. As far as sex I'm a male only advice there is "deal with it",haha!

I seem to hit my tailbone in the bathtub. That's where I notice it most. I also have a totally bony butt... who knew? =)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
