Goodgonebad 38 Posted November 14, 2012 Okay, i loss 39 pounds to be exact the first month of surgery (10/02/12 surgery date), but a whopping, . . Drum roll. . . 4 pounds this month (13 days) I watch my cal, Water and protien closely and I exercise 5 days a week. What is happening? I'm not at a stall It is just coming off extremely slow now : (
Dooter 1,457 Posted November 14, 2012 This is not a satisfying answer, but it just happens. Your body is adjusting, you are adjusting- the loss will continue as long as you keep doing everything right. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. As long as the numbers are going DOWN.... that's good. Lifting weights a lot will stop the numbers from going down even if your body is changing shape. It's hard to say what factor is playing a part, but i think you're probably doing just fine. Are your carbs higher than...oh...30 to 50 grams per day? If so, that can slow it down a lot. 3 Carol Watts, IsB and ProudGrammy reacted to this
Goodgonebad 38 Posted November 14, 2012 Thank you for your response. My carbs are in check too. I'm just going to see what happens the next couple weeks. In the meantime I just put my scale away. 2 IsB and ProudGrammy reacted to this

amytug 996 Posted November 14, 2012 Good!!! scales are evil! I have not had my surgery yet, but I can offer this being on the outside looking in. 40 pounds in one month is incredible! Because you have put the scale away, let's pretend like you lost 20 pounds last month and 24 pounds this month! . Pretty awesome if you ask me!!!! 2 Goodgonebad and Boofster reacted to this

Supersweetums 1,164 Posted November 14, 2012 It is totally normal to have the weight loss to slow down. The first month is always the highest loss, and then each month is usually a little less than the last. Put it in this perspective, if everyone lost 40 lbs each and every month, many would reach goal in just 2 months! Your body needs time to adjust. ButtertheBean has a great article link on his profile that talks about stalls and slowed weight loss in the beginning...worth a read! 1 Goodgonebad reacted to this
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted November 14, 2012 40 pounds is a TON of weight to lose in one month. It only makes sense that you will slow down temporarily at some point. Be happy with your loss so far and keep on keeping on!! You will lose it all! 1 Goodgonebad reacted to this
buttahfly 9 Posted November 14, 2012 Sleeved 10/19 lost 34 lbs but for the last week & 1/2 not a single pound in fact I loose 2 oz then the next day gain it back and I am so frustrated. At this point I feel like this is all I am going to lose. I drink my Water & get my Protein so guess its time to chuck the dang scale. I feel great though and I am thankful I went thru with surgery. Even if it's only 34 lbs I am no longer on blood pressure meds so frustrated but also very thankful 1 Goodgonebad reacted to this

Not to be mean, really, I am not trying to be mean. But if you are tracking daily oz's you need to stop. I do weigh myself everyday. I do it just to put myself in the mental state of reminding myself that I have 'new' life.' But it goes up and down within a few pounds. That's normal. joyful noise 101 Posted November 14, 2012 I've only lost 20 pounds since my surgery 10/12. But, I have lost oodles of inches. I am down 3 pants sizes and my 2X t-shirts are now night shirts. Since I cannot each much (1.5 oz Protein per meal) and I walk 1 hour every day, I was a little let down when I got weighed yesterday. The surgeon said to keep walking and do whatever I feel comfortable doing, exercise wise. He said 20 was a great loss with all the inches I've lost. And that everyone is different. I only own one pair of shorts and 2 pair of yoga pants. I will be clothes shopping tomorrow and looking forward to not going to Lane Bryant's.

I think we both did a good thing by putting the scale away. We just started our journey and are doing the right things, we just have to be patient I guess : ) after all we didnt put it on over night and we cant take it off over night.
