I am having my surgery at Presby Dallas also. Can you tell me how you liked the experience there and any pointers in general for the location? Thank you!!!

Hello Aimee! I had a good experience there at Presby. The nurses were great there and the ones that come in to do your blood pressure were too. They get you walking around about 2 hours after surgery and you feel so nauseas or at least I did. I stayed 2 nights and they brought me my medications on time each time. I didn't have to call to nurse station. I really wanted to go to Forest Park but insurance said Presby but it turned out to be good. There is still a lot of construction around the hospital but if you go to the main enterance the surgery admitting is right there to the right. Their OR is in the basement of the hospital. Any more questions feel free to ask... jodi.battles@gmail.com. The first 5 days were tough but it does get better and I feel great now. Almost there and I think you will like Presby as well.

I went to forest park on 11/21 .. BEAUTIFUL hospital .. I had a suite... My own living room even :) would have been a lot more enjoyable if I Hadith time there to enjoy it though :) (got to the room at 8p and checked out by 2)

Nurses were great except for that one.... :) but she didn't know the full story and was just being difficult to help me.

Anyway, beautiful hospital :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
