DanaInNewOrleans 513 Posted November 13, 2012 Hi Everybody, I was just visiting the Obesity Help Sleevers blog and I came across an ongoing topic I thought could be fun and useful here. It was titled "Whatcha Eating Today VGSleevers".... It was interesting because veterans and new Sleevers were posting their food/water/exercise choices and sometimes adding commentary for their food choices. I kind of think it may be better to have the topic as "What did you eat yesterday VGSleevers" since the posts were mostly from morning and you don't get the posters full menus. It would probably also be helpful to be able and go back and peruse daily menus for ideas... So, what do ya'll think? Good idea or not for an ongoing topic? ~Dana 2 Spirit Fire and TwinsMama reacted to this
doxieville 799 Posted November 13, 2012 Sure, it's a great topic. Esp with the long timers adding their comments. But.... A lot of us are over at My Fitness Planner and we view each others diary and make comments & support each other. It's helpful and keeps us (me at least!) honest. Is there a GS group? That would be great.....
DanaInNewOrleans 513 Posted November 13, 2012 Is it the same MyFitnessPal? I can't find a site called My Fitness Planner
doxieville 799 Posted November 13, 2012 It's not an 'official' group. We just invite each other to be friends. You can do a search on here and many threads will come up w peoples MFP names. Let me know if you join and I'll send you an invite.
Territravel 217 Posted November 13, 2012 I joined My Fitness Pal, but I haven't used it much. It's time consuming trying to find what I ate on their system and log it..Maybe I'm not doing something right? Dana, Good Idea on the post. Do you want want the entire days menu? Breakfast: Protein shake Lunch: salad with chopped ham and cheese Dinner: Potato Soup Snack: xtra small purple cow and before bed yogurt covered raisins. OneWritersSoul 353 Posted November 13, 2012 I've been using MyFitnessPal to keep a record of everything I'm eating and drinking. Instead of searching for things in their database though, I actually use the SCAN option and scan the UPC codes which automatically adds everything to my daily log. For me it has been perfect! The only thing I don't like about MFP is the message I get after I'm finished logging for the day. It tells me that I'm eating too few calories and if I don't eat more then my body will go into starvation mode. No idea what I'm supposed to aim for as far as calorie intake at just about 3 weeks post-op but the message is frustrating.

happilysleeved 114 Posted November 13, 2012 I also use my fitness pal to log everything. If you log on using a computer you can change your goals and ratios, so I set what I want my calories, Protein an carbs to be!
