My doctor had me out of work for a full 6 weeks. He says it's to give my body time to heal and get used to eating and being tired.

So today is my first day back and I am exhausted. Just over an hour left of my shift and I'm barely going to walk out of here lol. I have no idea how some of you go back to work so fast.

Just a small ranting.

Hmm.. I'm a teacher with small children and I'm only taking my Christmas break of 2 1/2 weeks off.

I've had 2 lapband surgeries and 2 emergency removals and returned within a week or so on all of them. Hope this is similar and doable when I'm sleeved on the 14 of Dec

I know some can do it. I have fibromyalgia and I'm sure that is adding to it. Plus it's cold and raining here.

My surgeon said he'd like us to take off as long as possible up to our full 6 week limits. I want to take no more than 2 weeks. How long do most Sleevers take? I've seen the range so far is 1 week to a few weeks. The 6 weeks is a first I've seen.

I'm going back to work next Wendesday and then out until the following monday. That should be a good getting back to work for me. I probably honestly could go back tomorrow but I developed a cold and I've been napping like crazy!

I work at FedEx office so I took 6 weeks off and then I return 12/16/12 in the middle of peak season. So it's scary.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
