I got a call today from my case manager at my insurance company (Anthem BC/BS GA). My doctor submitted the paperwork but the hospital is not Blue Credited (or something like that). When i started my journey, i started with a different doctor, different hospital b/c that hospital was not credited so my surgery would be covered. So i went to the one closest to me that was, which was Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. So now they are telling me that that hospital is no longer on their list. So why in the h e double hockey sticks didnt they tell me that they were taking the hospital off the list so i wouldnt have wasted my time going to all the appointments for what i feel is nothing..I'm really hoping they can work it out b/c i still do want surgery but dont want to drive 3-4 hours just to go to the doctor

all i do know right now all i want to do is cry b/c i thought i was doing the right thing and getting healthy but i just dont understand why this road block was put in front of me. Has anyone else dealt with something like this?

I'm sorry it's been so hard for you. I also had some problems getting approved. I hope it all works out. HUGS

Its so frustrating, but don't give up. Maybe a call to insurance to explain that it was accredited when you started and never informed that the accreditation had been taken away will help. They might make an exception or be able to direct you to a hospital or doctor that is. Last night i was ready to call it quits, but today i got my date and the world is all sunny again. Ill cross my fingers and toes for you!

Some people are driving/flying to Mexico for their surgery so 2-3 hour drive isn't that bad when you put it into that perspective.

Having the surgery was the best thing I ever did. My mom forbid me to have it (funny since i'm an adult) and eventually they both came around and they were at the hospital supporting me. I've been sleeved about a month now and I have lost 57 lbs to date.

The point is that some things are worth doing. Sometimes the best course of action isn't always the easiest and this happens to be one of those things. 2-3 hours drive is nothing when you consider that it's going to change your life.

YOU CAN DO THIS!
