Shrinking feet???

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed their shoes getting too big? I wouldn't have dreamed that would happen, but I guess it make sense since pregnancy can cause the need to buy bigger shoes.

Also, I thought of a NSV I'm looking forward to. It will be nice when I can hang my pants on ANY hanger and not have to bypass the ones with the little supports built in.

What a journey! I'm much happier taking the time to soak in the sites on my journey rather than focusing only on my destination.

I wore a 6 1/2-7 consistently until I was above 250. I maxed out at an 8W. Now I'm in a 7 1/2 regular and am interested to see if they'll shrink further or if this is it.

Imagine my surprise when I tried on some size 9's (I usually wear a 9W) at Target and THEY FIT! The WIDE is gone!

Yes, the feet get fat, too! So, when you take your meausurements and they are not changing, remember, there is weight in your face, neck, hands and feet, all places you don't normally measure!

I've lost a full size.....and my feet don't hurt as badly as they used to but probably do have some permanent damage to the bones.

My eyeglasses are also much too large....the fall off my face if I bend over~~

I sort of hadnt noticed that my feet had gotten bigger. I have size 10 feet anyway, pretty much the biggest you can get in Australia in women's shoes, without going into specialist shoes or having them made.

Because of the ankle problem - chronic bursitis - that I'd developed that was my main reason for surgery, I had huge swellings on the lateral side of either ankle, in that hollow at the side of your heel and it was very painful to press. So for a year at least, all I'd worn on my feet apart from boots or similar when I went out at night, was clogs and birkenstocks. Which is my general everyday style anyway. But with all the loafers and the like that came into fashion last winter, I suddenly realised I couldnt get size 10 shoes on my feet anymore.

Since losing 29kg, and getting my ankles better too, I'm now a 9 to 9 and a half again.

Woowoo! Manolos here we come! I bought an AMAZING pair of St. John heels that were the tiniest big snug at a killer price a few weeks ago. After reading how much people's feet have shrunk, I wonder if they'll be too big.

Well, if that's the case it won't matter because I can finally borrow my sister's shoes.

I got a ring last Dec for my BD and it was a VERY tight 6 but DH and everyone else said wait a while before you get it resized..lol..not I will have to get it resized smaller not bigger!

Yes all my shoe that I have are to big. I have slip on pretty shoes and I was out doing business last week and I had to climb a flight of stairs outside, they kept falling off on every step...lol...it is fun isn't it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
