Frustrated! :( Feeling Really Down.. :(

Recommended Posts

I would NOT change your calorie load. Just get in between 60-90 grams of Protein, keep the carbs down and drink your Water. Stalls are natural. They are your bodies way of recalibrating for the next bout of weight loss. Every time I have stalled, I have lost inches.

Exercise is good for health in general, but your body will lose when it is ready. I know we all want to have an active solution, but there it is. I am still between 750-800 calories at 10 months out.

I see Chimera says the same thing. We posted about the same time.

The whole starvation things is a myth. Your body will only hang onto everything when it has no more fat to burn - Google it - there are tons of scientific studies on it. Best method to get that fat to burn is to be in ketosis - which is why bariatric diets are pretty much universally high protein/low carb.

Stalls happen - and they mess with our heads because we are doing everything we should be doing and the scale is not moving...just keep doing what you should be doing as per your NUT's orders and you will lose. Our bodies drop weight in a variety of patterns - rarely is it a straight and steady line graphing downward' date=' my own patterns is more of a stair step very much linked to my cycle.

Trend over time is where those losses really add up. I stalled hard for a month when I was 5 months post-op, eventually the scale started moving again - during that time my body really changed - suddenly I was swimming in all of the smaller sizes I had just bought.

I personally try and follow the common post op rules of 600-800 cals per day - 60-80 g Protein, 64+ oz Water, and carbs 40g or under - or as low as I can get them ;)[/quote']

That is really good information for everyone. This is basically my plan as well except I push the numbers even more - 100-125 grams protein, 100-125 oz water, and 30g or less carb. Most of my daily carb is in the light soy I drink every morning with a Protein Shake (8 carb).

1) Increase your calories a little if you can. There is no point in starving yourself, just take it slow, eat every couple hours, and make sure what you eat is high in Protein - Your protein goal is far more important than calories.

2) Accept the stall. It's almost impossible to do while you're in it, but a few weeks out I hit a stall that lasted 3 full weeks. I was nutty at that point worrying that I'd gotten stuck and wouldn't continue losing. I tried EVERYTHING I could think of. Eventually it just broke on its own. I know I am gonna jinx myself typing this so *knock on wood* I have not had a stall since. My weight loss is slowing down a bit now (About 3.5 months out) but I'm still losing a good 2+ pounds a week.

3) Do something fun. All the stress just increases cortisol in your body, which can be a contributing factor to weight gain. I dunno if it really makes a huge difference, but either way - getting out and doing something for you so that you feel good is healthy!

You're doing great. Hang in there and the pounds will just randomly start coming off again one day after your body finishes adjusting.

I was sleeved on 10/10 so far i've lost 24 lbs. But i have been on a stall for almost 3 weeks! I haven't lost any weight since my post op appointment 10/24. People are saying that they see a huge difference on me and that my face is slimming down' date=' however the numbers arent going down! I admit that i haven't been religiously taking my Protein Shakes and i haven't been eating the amount of calories im supposed to coz im scared of throwing up. (usually less than 400) im supposed. I walk at least 3 times a week. I'm starting to think that this may just end up being a failure. Help!! How do i break this stall..???[/quote']

I was sleeved two days before you and we are in the same boat! Stall is my middle name right now! :-( However, I am eating about 800 calories a day.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
