I think my body image has held me back from being intimate with my partner for a long time now. One of my unanswered questions is whether or not I will begin to feel differently enough about myself after surgery, to change how approach this part of my life? I am hoping for the best, in time. At this time I am scheduled for surgery on the 29th of November. Good to hear that you are feeling well, all over  You go girl!

Saltmistrose, trust me, once you see yourself in smaller clothes, your reflection in the mirror showing your curves in the right spots & strangers flirting with you. Huge self esteem boost!

Another reason I can't wait for surgery, my poor fiancé has endured this first hand. Any time I get sick with my band and start gaining back everything I become so insecure, when I can get off some of the weight I become very aggressive lol. So feel bad for him because I've been a wreck these last few months since I've gained back 30lbs since April :(

(I'm back up 50lbs of the 80lbs I lost)

Bring on Dec 10th ;)

I can tell you first hand that YES it will be different when you start losing the weight, I was sleeved on June 18 and I'm down 92 lbs. Before I had surgery I would hardly let my husband of 32 years touch me, I was so ashamed of myself for getting to 334 lbs, but now I can't get enough of him, we r like teenagers. For me this surgery was worth every crapping thing I had to go through to get the intimacy back with the love of my life!

I now have the sex drive of a nineteen year old boy! You will gain confidence when you see your body filling out the SMALLER clothes the way you want it to! Also you can introduce new positions etc.! ;) My husband is one happy man! lol

This is so good to hear! My husband has never even seen me naked. We have six children together, that's proof that we do get intimate, but never w the lights on. I can't wait for a cute nightie!

I tell ya www.fredericks.com is the place for awesome stuff to make you feel sexy. When I'm feeling insecure about my belly fat and don't want to put on a nighty because I feel I look pregnant with this big belly. Just slap on a corset, makes you feel empowered, your still covered up and can help give you an hour glass look ;)

Mechanically there is just a lot less mass to deal with so not only is there more ROOM but it doesn't take as much effort either. No on th other hand banging pelvic bones is one thing that is NOT more pleasant :)

My husbean and I have collectively discarded over 80 pounds. While neither of us is near goal, logistically it makes a HUGE difference.

Yay for having fun with intimacy finally! I thought that I was going to feel very insecure and uncomfortable, but I'm not. One of my favorite NSVs =)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
