wendy88 7 Posted November 13, 2012 I know that Protein rebuilds the muscle from loosing weight but why is it important to get in 40-60 grams of protein a day to assist weight loss?
Tink22-sleeve 528 Posted November 13, 2012 From what I understand, we need the Protein to prevent muscle loss- so we lose fat instead of muscle. Hope this helps.
iggychic 1,405 Posted November 13, 2012 Think about what muscle is in your body...your heart is muscle. You need it to regain stregnth, to keep your muscles, including your heart, healthy, and if you do that, your healthy body will burn fat instead of trying to survive off of it. JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted November 13, 2012 You're taking in far less calories daily, the Protein is where your body will get energy from. Simply put, without sufficient protein you can feel weak, have headaches and not really function well. So, if the majority of your calories are coming from protein, you'll have enough to live on and still lose weight.
mwrarr 244 Posted November 13, 2012 Protein has a direct link to lowering insulin & insulin resistance. High protein diets have also been linked to weight loss of belly fat, along with increased memory, stamina, body self-repair, etc etc etc.... I'd guess that's at least a partial reason why. 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
