I was sleeved on the 7th. Is anyone still sore. I am a little. Also I have been eating Soups and Protein Shakes. I have tried retried Beans. Some things like the Protein shakes in the am make me nausea. Is anyone experiencing nausea when they eat?

I am sore when I need to bend down to do anything but not too sore otherwise. I was also sleeved the 7th

Hey to you M! I'm still a little sore too. Only if I bend down too fast or sit in a weird position. The first Protein Shake of the day makes me feel a little nauseous. I have been tolerating lots of Soups and smoothies but when I tried puréed yesterday it didn't go so well. The texture seemed to bother me more than anything! Back to soups today.

Has anyone ate any bread yet??

I had a fight with myself because my mom brought a still warm Italian loaf of bread. I passed on it lol. Not that I didn't want to

I tried mashed potatoes six days out and i was fine. Maybe if you're gonna get a leak you're just gonna get a leak. I haven't had bread... But I just don't like bread very much.

I agree with you. I think if your going to get one, your just going to get one. Doesn't mean I would eat pizza on week 2 :-)

I was the 5th. I still have some mild soreness. And sometimes when I eat or drink, I get a little pain / squeezing in the top left of my stomach. not all the time, just sporadically. Anybody else

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
