Hey guys,

I was sleeved 10/11/12, and have been pretty good with the progression of my diet.. I tolerated the stages well, but ill admit: I don't get my suggested calories in daily. I do eat decent meals and balance things out, but it seems I have ZERO energy! Should I try a b-12 supplement? Any suggestion would help!

Oh yeah. I'm still in this stinking 2 week stall! !

My doc told me to kinda shy away from the Protein Shakes as I should be getting my Protein from foods now. Should I resort back to my shakes anyways?

I am almost five months out and I have one shake a day... My nut said that is great and if I can tolerate do it. So I either have it for Breakfast or an afternoon snack. I use Premier Protein shakes at 30g or two scoops of unflavored Unjury powder in a fruit drink mix for 40 g of Protein.< /p>

I was sleeved 10/2. I get tired after walking for too long. But other than that I feel great. I take b-12 every day. Maybe try That. Good luck.

I drink 2 Protein Shakes a day and get the rest of my Protein from solids. B12 and B50 complex are two of the supplements I take daily. Drinking lots of Water exercising and staying regular also helps with energy. There is nothing that kills energy faster than not being regular.

You really need the Protein from the shakes. I drink a Protein Shake every AM and I'm 1 year post op. It is pretty hard to get your protein in without the shakes. Yes take your B Vitamins as well as Vitamin B12... :)

I started with the elliptical 4 days after surgery and have been able to build back up to 3 miles a day. Exercising in the early morning is great for keeping energy for the rest of the day. The other key is sleep. Make sure you get enough sleep every day.

Dr should have told you to walk as much as you could. Even though you are not cleared for other exercises.

Any suggested amount of B12 to take? On my way to Walgreens!

It needs to be sublingual B12 at this point, and you also need to assess your food intake. You are early out and not getting enough Protein which means your body is not healing properly. You mentioned not enough calories....how many shy are you? You really have to concentrate on Protein, calories and liquids early out of the box or your body won't heal and you'll be tired constantly, no matter how much b12 you take.

And I sound like a lecturing fool....but honey I give myself that same lecture every day. I also was trying to avoid the shakes but finally after several weeks of being shy of my protein goal I have decided to add one a day to my routine so that I make goal (I'm in a stall as well). When I am able to eat more food due to less restriction I will cut the shakes back out, but they are a necessary evil for some of us....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
