Sleeve Buddy For March

Recommended Posts

I'm also looking for March sleeve buddies at Mi Doctor, but going between March 21-26 (surgery on the 22nd).

Good luck with your search, Jesser!

Hopefully! I'm thinking either the end of feb or start of march! Can't make a deposit yet, so I can't say for sure. It'd be fun to meet up!

I am planning on going in March, but haven't set my mind to which surgeon yet. I am a midwife so I have to schedule it between due dates.

I sent an email to Mexico bariatric center about dr. Lopez and they won't book for him any longer. They said he isn't a good doctor. It seems fishy. How did you book him? Where are you coming from to go?

I think it is weird that they would say that yet still feature him on their website (3 out of the 5 doctors on their website are affiliated with Dr. Lopez). Perhaps there is more going on there that has nothing to do with his abilities as a surgeon. Anyway, I would suggest going through A Lighter Me. They book for Dr. Lopez--I am traveling from Seattle to get my surgery done with him.

That's understandable. Were you able to ask them why they think he's a bad doctor? Keep in mind that they know that he is still affiliated with other services (and probably more affordably) and their objective is to get you to book through them and not seek him out on your own, so they definitely have an agenda.

My coordinator says that Dr. Lopez ONLY books thru alighterme. That other company probably has them on their website to attract people because he IS a good doctor :) and when you try to book your surgery they try to get you to go with one of their docs. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me...

Really to me, that says a lot about him to strictly just use one company. That proves to me that he's not money hungry and trying to use every coordinator he can to get people on the books. I have never read a bad review on him.

Bait and switch, huh? That is awful.

On the brighter side, I feel really good about my decision to go through A Lighter Me. My coordinator (Ronda) is super helpful and she even says that she will match me up with people who are going in for surgery at the same time as me, so that I will have sleeve buddies. I'm still looking for sleeve buddies here now because she doesn't have anyone to match me up with yet since my surgery is still a little over 4 months away. The more the merrier, I say.

I will be flying from Houston to San Diego on March 10th.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
