Cinders 56 Posted November 11, 2012 I, like many have high blood pressure, controlled by meds. On friday I woke at 4am & had to go potty.I walked out the bedroom door & got a huge dizzy spell (I have been getting them for the past couple weeks) I bent over to lower my head for a minute & when I stood up, I just kept going over backwards, blacking out. I remember hitting my head on the door frame, after that I also managed to hit my shoulder, knee, and twist my mid-back. I hit the floor and regained conciousness right away with my dogs licking my face! What a shocker ! I went to the Dr's later that day & told him what had been happening with the dizziness & the fainting that morning. He checked my BP and it was low, so he took me off one of the meds (YIPEE!) and told me to monitor myself. So a very slight concussion, bruised shoulder, knee( don't really want to damage the artificial knees !!) and a sore back, it is great to be off one of my medds but what a way to find out! SO Sat, I stopped the 1 med & lter in the afternoon, went to town for a few things. While I was shopping I got the dizzy spells again. I went & sat for a while but they kept coming back so I finished up with 1/2 of what I went for & headed home. I was wondering if you have had your BP meds reduced does it takes a while for it to get out of your system? Sorry for the long post, just wanted to explain it properly 1 TakeCareGirl reacted to this

Cinders big kudos/congrats on leaving high blood pressure behind 40 lbs gone too WooHoo i was on 2 HB meds - don't remember the names PCP took me off one med first, kept the other for a bit.....basically he "weaned" me off the med, no side effects I'm not sure but..................... when your dr took you off BP meds -meds did get out of your system quickly enough but your body might take a bit of time to adjust to the new you, minus BP meds? i think.. maybe if your dizziness continues - make an appt with PCP - couldn't hurt take care feel better
