doxieville 799 Posted November 10, 2012 What does that mean? I've read that on here often. Where people 'develop a restriction.' What about 'stricture?' Thanks!!
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted November 10, 2012 Restriction is the feeling you have of being satisfied. Very commonly used for lapband surgery as the band causes the restriction to make you feel full.
mandys84 9 Posted November 10, 2012 A stricture is scar tissue in the stomach that makes it hard or impossible for food to pass through. It is opened with an endoscopy scope without issue.
doxieville 799 Posted November 10, 2012 So you can feel a restriction if you have a stricture. Got it!!! Thanks!!!
Katie713 423 Posted November 10, 2012 If you have a stricture you have a very hard time with intake of fluids or solids and the stricture has to be stretched by your surgeon so food can pass into the newly sleeved stomach. Restriction is the means of preventing overeating by restricting the amount that can go in at any one time. We also" feel" the restriction as the sensation of fullness, especially with dense Protein.
