BKMama 179 Posted November 9, 2012 So, I hit 50 lbs lost (YAY!!) and I started to think of how this would typically be the point where I'd fall off that metaphorical wagon of dieting. At this point, your clothes are hanging off and people are more than likely noticing that you're losing weight. Before, having people notice would scare the CRAP out of me. I felt like OMG, the pressure is on to keep losing because they expect it. Unfortunately, when I'm feeling pressured/anxious/scared/etc, I turn to food....cue falling off the wagon and gaining the weight back. Lather, rinse, repeat. It is SO NICE not having to worry about that this time around. Instead of being afraid or scared I'm hopeful and looking forward to the next 50 and the next 50 after that. A few people have noticed and it feels so good to accept the compliment and not internalize the pressure and freak myself out. I take the compliment and move on with my day with a big smile. I have never been able to do that before. It feels FABULOUS!! 2 mango926 and blessedw2 reacted to this

BKMama 179 Posted November 10, 2012 I will say, it isn't only the surgery that changed this. I am seeing a therapist because I know most of my issues were mental and emotional. She has been very important in my success so far. :-)
