I am 3 mos post op and everytime I eat ANYTHING it comes back up in my throat. It doesn't matter what it is. It could be ONE bite of food and even if I chew it til it's liquid it comes back up. I don't vomit. I just keep swallowing and eventually it goes down. liquids do it too. If I drink or take a sip of anything the samethin happens. I am on an antacid. Nausea comes with it too most of the time. Anyone know anything??

it could be acid reflux. you might need a stronger ant acid. Im not sleeved yet but i had the band and i had this a lot but the top of my stomach was damaged over acid reflux and the food would slip in and out of my stomach and back up my throat. i would try liquid only for a few days and try and get the acid under control if its still there then you might need to get the camera down to check things out x hope you get this sorted . x x

You may have developed a restriction, or had one that had went unoticed - mention it to an eye, ear and nose specialist - not your surgeon. You may need an endoscopy.

Call your Surgeon! Could be minor, could be serious!

I went through the same thing. I didn't realize it was acid reflux. Finally called the dr and the put me on an acid reducer. It worked wonders. I can finally eat, and not feel sick.

Call your dr/ surgeon.

Well here's the thing' date=' I recently found out that I am pregnant so I don't know that there's much I can do about it now so I'm scared to find out something is wrong :([/quote']

id say definitely acid reflux x especially now your pregnant. also when your pregnant your muscles relax that includes the muscles at the top of your stomach Thats why most pregnant women get bad heart burn. i would think Thats the cause a good ant acid will sort it but get something you know is safe in pregnancy x best of luck sweet heart x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
