Yep! Mine is starting to fall out like crazy. I see some bald spots. I'm heading to my hairdresser right now. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. I'm blonde w long shoulder length hair. Might just chop it all off bcs these long strands all over the place are really annoying.

Losing hair is just plain sucks. But it does grow back. Biotin does not stop the hair from falling out, it helps it grow back faster though. Your hair will grow back about 7 or 9 months out typically. But wow, look at what your body is doing......Transforming, now I love this side effect.........I take both biotin and silica and my hair is rapidly growing and growing longer than it has in the past. :)

Hello,

I am a Hairstylist for 14 years and just got sleeved Oct 15/2012. What you need to do is Protein,Protein, Protein. If you can not do the protein then you can go buy these Vitamins called hair skin and nails tablets. They are great, also Biotin tablets alone are good too for Hair loss. But a lot of people loose there hair after this surgery because of the lack of protein in the body. You will not loose all your hair but you will have some heavy shedding.

That will go away in time.

But if you want to go to your beautician have here to give you a protein or keratin treatment it ill stop the hair loss until you get the tablets or more protein.

I hope this helped?

Hi Annointed, is it the lack of Protein or the overall lack of food being consumed for the Hair loss? What did the physicians say about it ?

Yes it is a lack of Protein, My Dr said you have to consume at least 30 to 60 grams of Protein a day to not have hair lose. I have been blessed to not have any Hair loss because I do a lot of protein like shakes, chicken pureed of course. Don't worry not everybody has hair loss but try to get as much protein in as you can. A lack of food oh know we can't eat alot any way. It's just what you eat. :)

I hope this help :)

I've been getting between 70-90 g of Protein and my Vitamins and my hair is still falling out like crazy! But its not getting thin so I think it helps Hair growth. I bought bosley Shampoo and my hair is still falling out but its half the amount! If you can find it, I would try that.

This is freaking me the hell out cause I have fine hair too so I can't afford to lose any. I take Biotin 5000 religiously so if that high of a Protein intake and dosage of Biotin doesn't help...I'm screwed.

My Dr's office told me go buy either F.A.S.T. Shampoo and conditioner or Garlic (no it doesn't smell like garlic) shampoo and conditioner, they both have helped his patients grow their hair back faster. So I have them both in hand for after my surgery next week, just in case..I was getting Keratin treatments last year and loved them! My hair has never grown faster then it did when I was getting the Keratin..Good luck and as everyone else said, Protein, protein, protein..

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
