Middle Night Headache And Throwing Up Feeling

Recommended Posts

It is 2 am and l have the dull headache that will not go away,, sore, achy and slight throwing up feeling.

Drank like 64 oz right before bed ( crazy, I know). Not sure why I drank so much, but I was thirsty and I though what the heck..

So naturally I have to make my middle of the night trip to the bathroom. After getting back which seems like a very long time i get the rolling headache that won't go away. Also achy and mouth is dry. So I drink a small cup (3 - 5 oz) of Water. Shortly after I get the refreshing feeling flowing over where my headache was. A few minutes later the headache is back and I have a little more nauseous feeling like maybe I will throw up ( defn know what that feels like over and over again LOL). So now I go get a life water and drink a few ounces think that maybe I watered down my mineral state with the 64 oz before bed. Feeling a little better now, but headache is returning again.

I am going to keep drinking the life water to see if the headaches and throwing up feeling goes away. Do you think this is case of dehydration, mineral dilution or both? Any suggestions?

I am no doctor, but you asked for opinion's and YES! Dehydration can obviously create your extreme thirst (64 oz b/4 going to bed WOW)... But also the symptoms of dehydration are fatigue, weakness, headaches, nausea, chills, head rushes, dry mouth, muscle cramps, increased heart rate and the list goes on!

It sure sounds like you needed to get the fluids in you.. its hard sometimes and I still find myself getting headaches or fatigue and whent that happens I instantly know I did not focus on getting my fluids in me for the day! It is a learning process! Good Luck

Thanks for the response. It is true that i have been unable to get the usual fluids this last week because of business during the day and in evening. Will try and overcome this deficiency in next couple days by being more careful about drinking more.

Terrible headaches today and same nausea. Is it going to be possible for me to rehydrate without going to the ER ( have not yet since surgery for dehydration) . I'll try some Tylenol also.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
