The problem, Newlapper, is that's exactly what I planned to do. The bread just fell into the ol' piehole! It jumped in without my permission! I actually ate the topping first, with every intention of tossing the bread, but something went wrong. Very wrong.

Well, I do have to dip some of the bread in sauce, lol. BUT, I SAY BUT, NOT AS MUCH AS I USED TOO! LOL We are still looking good, aren't we fire sista!

DeLarla, You are a pip! You're the funniest person on this site, and just what I need right now. I'm struggling so with my eating (too much). Probably need my third fill. But I'm just being so bad about learning to eat a new way. I swear I'm going to have to find a band-related therapist (hypnotist would probably be what I need!) to get me on the right track. I'm not feeling discouraged - just learning that this is really up to me. I was banded in February. I'm still a plebe with a lot to learn. candy

candy B, you're so yummy I want to eat you! Imagine if my mom named me pizza? If I ever have twin boys, they'll be Ben and Jerry, just for torture sake! Glad I could make someone smile, winky wink.

Ahh, Don't cry, Donali. DeLarla must be a natural-born comedienne!

You're going to have to "settle" for being crowned "MOST PROLIFIC AND CONSISTENT INFORMATION-GIVER", and a bandster we thank god we have reading and responding to our posts.

Love, candy

Magnolia, "PB" is bandster shorthand for "productive burp"--a nice way of saying that something eaten has come back up because it wouldn't go down. The actual experience varies considerably from person to person; some people have refined the art to being able to do it on purpose without anyone noticing, while for others (me) it's painful and unpleasant.

Even though we talk about it casually it's something to be avoided because it is hard on the stomach and the band. Sometimes it absolutely can't be helped, but it's a very good idea to be gentle with our stomachs afterward by sticking to liquids or soft foods for a couple of meals.

Oh, yeah, I think it's good. Lots of people don't feel like "official" bandsters until they've done it, but you'll do just fine without it. :D

That's definitely very good.

I hear people going on about 'pb'ing' all the time. That really concerns me. I would think our goal would be to avoid it at all costs.

There are two kinds of people : those who have and those who will. It is inevitable, but I sure don't want to do it anymore often than I have to.

Have a great day!

I'm one of those who hasn't PB'd yet. First I really wanted to because like Alex says, it would make me feel official. However, what if I have one really big one backed up waiting to surprise me when I least expect it? I'm working extra careful at chewing and stopping when full in fear of that day. Plus I've heard NEVER eat and drive, and never eat on the run or while walking around, so I have to be sitting to eat.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
