shellbell125 41 Posted November 9, 2012 I keep having these stomach spasms. Everything kind of restricts. Feels like someone squeezing my stomach tight. Only lasts a couple of seconds, but it is painful. Has anyone else had these? It might happen a couple of times an hour but I don't think it's bad enough to take the pain medicine they gave me. Although I am going to take some tonight so I can get a good night sleep.< /p> Thoughts anyone? THanks
ReduceReuseRecycle-Me! 119 Posted November 9, 2012 When did you have your surgery and have your told your surgeon?
Jakat 25 Posted November 9, 2012 if you are following your diet especially the no caffeine. My NUT warned me about the caffeine and that it can cause muscle spasms. But like Aurora said when in doubt call the DOC. Good Luck
GeauxForIt 659 Posted November 9, 2012 Anything really cold did that to my tummy right after surgery. Had to be room temp or warmer. If you're a week out, it's totally normal as you're healing and your new stomach is trying to figure out what the heck just happened!!
VitaleEM 44 Posted November 9, 2012 Absolutely! I had these in the hospital and a few weeks out. They are normal for this surgery.
NORCALRN 60 Posted November 9, 2012 i still have significant pain with food/fluids. jpeg might have to be replaced (fell out). every bite regardless of what it is - hurts- for about 5 minutes. enough to bring tears. post op temp of fluids, etc might be good to monitor for a bit. my situation was different, but i empathize with you. hang in there!!!!!!!!!! shellbell125 41 Posted November 9, 2012 Thanks so much everyone, I'm not drinking any caffeine and sticking to the diet. I will monitor as to whether it is the temperature or not.
iggychic 1,405 Posted November 9, 2012 Spasm's caused a leak (likely) in my case hun. Don't wait to call your doc. They might want to give you a muscle relaxant given it's so frequent.

I'm very anti leak after going through hell so you will see I warn everyone that said, if it helps one person not experience what I did...I feel like a god among men Ok maybe a goddess among bloggers.... heh heh Your doc may say you are fine, but it's always better to be safe than really really sorry!
