I bought my son a magic bullet a couple of months ago for college. He loves it and it's easy for him to keep clean. My husband recently bought me one and I see it is very easy to clean. I like it. I'm still working on the approval phase but thought I get a head start with the bullet and sometimes drink Protein Shakes as a Meal Replacement.< /p>

Never used a ninja. Two MB's though.. one at home, one at the office. Easy to clean.

I love the NInja, although it is not the easiest to clean, especially around the blades, and lid

I have an oyster single serve blender. I use it everyday. It worked really well in the beginning but after a few months of daily use, it doesn't work nearly as well. It is easy to clean though!

On a side note, I found that after my surgery, I didn't like the thicker shakes. Well, my sleeve didn't like them. During the pre-op diet, thick shakes were awesome. I ended up switching to using BlenderBall bottles to mix up my Syntrax Nectar shakes. The consistency is more like chocolate milk. (Or flavored milk, I don't always have chocolate.) Granted, this might be just a quirk with my sleeve. Obviously other people still like thick shakes. ;)

Do blenders make shakes have air bubbles?

Yep... that is what makes them thick - air bubbles.

I have two separate blenders that I use: Magic Bullet - easy to clean, good to mix Protein powder and liquid, but just okay; and the blender that Montel Williams promotes, The Montel is larger and is just as difficult to clean as any regular blender. The upside to the Montel is that you can make Soups, etc. with it. When I make a Protein shake, I can add spinach and carrots or any veg to my shake with a bit of fruit, much more nutritional. Liquifies just about anything.

I too loved my bullet for Pre-op shakes with ice and frozen fruits, etc. Didn't use at all on liquids stages 1 or 2-used a shaker cup with blender ball. Now on puree, the tiny amount of food I'm pureeing gets stuck in the blades of my Bullet. I think I'ld like the Ninja-the new one out on commercials now has a drink cup, small and large bowls. It looks like it does everything that my 12 other alliances do. (Christmas gift hint!)

I have a Ninja Pulse. It came with a large upright pitcher & 3 "bullet" style single cups. I LOVE IT. Soooo easy to clean & nothing sticks to the inside of the cups, even if I forget to rinse them out before they hit the sink. I use the single cups way more than the pitcher. It turns ice to snow. Great product.

On another note, a standard blender blade component will fit on a mason jar. Unscrew the blades, fill the jar with your ingredients & leave about 1-2" of room at the top. Screw the blades on the jar, flip 'er over & put it on the blender & go to town like normal. Voila! Single serve, easy to clean... :}

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
