I Have Gained 15 Lbs But Dropped 3 Pants Sizes

Recommended Posts

I take 50 grams (2 25 gram scoops) every morning along with 3 amino acid tablets, I have not taken creatine, have you? When I played college football my

Strength coach had all the little guys take creatine to gain weight so I always shyed away from that. I going to have to start doing more cardio so I can become more lean, I just HATE cardio but I know in order to reach my goal of 275 I have to get busy!!!

Yes, I have taken creatine. I think it helps with ATP (muscle energy) or something, it does seem to help me get that extra rep or so every set. I took it mostly during those months I was losing weight quickly to try and help me maintain/gain some of my strength back. I don't take it now. But it will channel some Water to your muscles which can cause you to gain a little Water weight, so that's why I asked since you said you've gained some weight. It hasn't caused me to gain any fat. In fact, when I stopped taking it a couple of weeks ago, I almost immediately (within 3-4 days) dropped that 5 pounds of water weight. I'm not a big fan of the cardio either, so I have to make it fun such as sprints, biking, etc. I just don't care for long endless running sessions....though I did a mud run 5k last Spring, but it was really fun and not like a regular 5k. Good luck!

Don't beat ur self up, ur transformation is amazing. And as long as the clothes size are going down and the muscle is going up don't stress, do what u do and keep hitting those weights. I started lifting weights before surgery and got to 110 and for me that was great however now I can only do 50 ugh can't wait to try to get back up their. Keep ur head up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
