Steph1333 6 Posted November 9, 2012 Wow, my doc had me on Clear Liquids and my Vitamins for Week 1. Week 2-4, I get to add my Protein Shakes in. It took me several days before I could even get all my clear liquids in, let alone the shakes. I make a 4 oz shake and sip it over 20-30 min.
Steph1333 6 Posted November 9, 2012 There's no way I could've stomached (no pun intended!) shakes that soon. Having them today filled me to the gills!
wonderfuss 6 Posted November 11, 2012 I'm on Day 5 and Full Liquids. I'm just now getting about 30oz if that of fluids and today I tried a Protein shake, carnation instant Breakfast, yogurt and Isopure. My family made spaghetti tonight so I was feeling adventurous and I tried the meat sauce and honestly, it went really well. I'm not making it a daily thing but it helped me feel like I was eating real food again. I'm going to be making potato, bean ham bacon Soup tomorrow with non fat dry milk and 1/2% milk and cheese. I'll be buying a ninja blender tomorrow so I'll be blending the crap out of it!

lindzgs 1 Posted November 16, 2012 My full liquid diet is the same as my clear liquids (water, skim milk, broth, sf Popsicles, crystal light, tea, coffee) plus cream based Soups (absolutely no lumps or chunks) and drinkable yogurt (which means I'm just going to Water down some Greek yogurt). Plus my Protein drinks which I started post-op. I start tomorrow and in preperation got five different kinds of Soup (holy crap I get flavors other than fake fruit!): cream of mushroom, red pepper and Tomato (cream), lentil Soups and a loaded baked potato soup. The last two have chunks but I plan to purée them before heating. I'll also be using the leftover homemade chicken broth and adding a cream base powder to it for cream of chicken.< /p> I've really been struggling with getting all my Protein in in the liquid diet, and now that I can have foods that taste good I'm even more concerned. Right now it all comes from my Protein Drinks (I try to get in two a day....16 oz total) with skim milk. But maybe the new normal of three meals (the soups and yogurt) with two Protein Drink Snacks will make me feel like I'm eating like a human instead of trying to drink as much protein and liquid as I can remember to in a day. I'm just ready for a meal to actually feel like a meal! 1 MrsM reacted to this
