chyna86 17 Posted November 7, 2012 I am almost 8 months out and recently feel that I am beginning to eat more than usual post op. I am afraid that my sleeve may be stretching a bit? My scale broke a couple of weeks ago so I am not positive if I have gained but I am sure that I have. Is this normal for post sleevers? Does anyone else feel the same? Suggestions? mesaucedo 207 Posted November 7, 2012 I am almost 7 months out and I noticed that all the sudden I eat more. I am still losing though, just at a slower pace. It took me 12 days to drop 1 pound instead of the faster pace I was at. I am losing inches a lot more now though. I have heard from a few people that this is normal. I am not sure. kyllfalcon 768 Posted November 7, 2012 I am about 8 1/2 months out and can eat a lot. I could actually eat more than I do. But I have a set plan and I really try to stick with it. I am getting from 1000-1200 calories per day, less than 50 carbs, and 80-100 grams of Protein. My weight loss has slowed way down, but I am about 10 pounds from goal. Still, I am losing, just a pound every week or so. I'm good with that. I do allow myself to partake naturally at luncheons, business meetings, family gatherings, special occassions. I have pizza once a week and eat all that I can - which is one piece! Rest of the time, I stick to the plan. I'm so grateful. Surgery went well. No complications. Lost lots of weight. Can tolerate most foods. How lucky is all that?? 1 carbgrl reacted to this
chyna86 17 Posted November 7, 2012 @ KYLLFALCON you are very much so right! I am very grateful I have had no complications at all and can tolerate most foods. I am even ok with being a slow looser. Last time I weighed I was 14 lbs from goal. I finished a slice of pizza at my company lunch and was a bit mortified. Now that I think about it all I ate yesterday was carbs. Maybe thats why I ate more. Didnt eat my Protein first. Thanks guys!
whitneymalae 69 Posted November 7, 2012 My doc says it takes 18 months for your stomach to be completely healed and the further you get from your surgery the more you are able to eat. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and can stomach about 3 ounces at a time but eventually it will be 1 cup and then 1 1/2 cups. It's not that your stomach is "stretching" it's just that it's settling into the new groove of things!
