Guess my Weight

Recommended Posts

Went somewhere today and out of the blue someone noticed I lost weight. They do not know I had any surgery or anything. But they asked how much I had lost and I told them not thinking its that big of a deal since its noticable. Then they are like so what do you weight now like 220 which is 20 pounds more then I actually weigh. I was so mad, my hubby assured me I dont actually look 200 or 220 but ehh who cares. Just proves some people are rude about weight loss even if they dunno you had anything done.On the reverse does anyone get mad about people who treat you WAY obviously better and nicer now that you have lost weight then when you were fatter. I get that now also so people wouldnt even look at me now they talk to me or are really nice to me I dunno wether to enjoy it or be mad. Larger people are definately treated differently.

Enjoy it, but always rember who was there for you when you were bigger. These new people are not true friends so be careful, but don't waste your mental health being upset with them, the only person it will hurt will be yourself.

Weight numbers are tricky and it is SO hard to judge, seriously! When I was in college and relatively 'thin' (after my first Weight Watchers bout, but in nice tight jeans and tucking in my shirts) I was still clocking in at 185-190 or so, in a size 12-14. I'm tall and large-framed (strapping Russian/Polish gene pool), so we carry lots of weight. I NEVER deal in numbers, and am always hazy about them.

People tend to mean well. You've lost, you've done great. Don't let some thoughtlessness get you down!

People I know do know I had the surgery and I am sick of them asking how much weight have you lost? I just got where I just say I threw the scale next door to let the neighbor worry about it, I don't know. I do of course weight myself, but as long as my clothes keep fitting lose, who cares?

As far as people treating you different I can say get used to it. There are definately people who will treat you different when your thinner. To those I just think @%&*!#you. But always try to treat everyone nice.

It sounds like that person, is acknowledging your weight loss but still wanted to take you down a bit. If they werent being malicious; its possible that they dont know shit about size and frame and pounds. dont sweat it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
