gettinMeBack 380 Posted November 7, 2012 I just recently had mine replaced and I had to wait a week prior to gettin the new one and I noticed during that week I lost the most weight in one week ever. Now that I have gotten it replaced I noticed that my weightloss has slowed Down. I kno the alternative is pregnancy and that wud cause way more weight gain but I have to say that this is so annoying 1 Tink22-sleeve reacted to this
Tink22-sleeve 528 Posted November 7, 2012 I am still pre-op, but I have a mirena IUD also. I will be interested to see how it goes. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
Blugirl 42 Posted November 7, 2012 I had my mirena for 2 years, but It was removed about two years ago because i started gaining some weight, and was nearly impossible to lose no matter what super diet I tried. ..... as soon as it was out of my body, the weight started coming off! crazy! 2 Ruffus and AmandaRaeLeo reacted to this
Sunshine30 2 Posted November 7, 2012 I hadn't thought about this...but you may have a good point! I've had my iud for almost 4 years...and my weight loss has been slow...(about 34 pounds in 2 months). I recently got my period, after going almost 4 years without one! I have no idea what's going on. Maybe my slow weight loss is connected to my mirena. 1 AmandaRaeLeo reacted to this

MDM0927 29 Posted November 7, 2012 My doctor told me I have to get an IUD. Weight gain worries me but my biggest concern is having it put in. I'm very big and had a c-section, I read it is harder to insert if a woman hasn't had a vaginal delivery. Anyone have difficulties? Having trouble getting it removed. Plus I'm dealing with side effects. Tubal, here I come. Amanda Rae
