carmillejoanita 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Iam new here but I've been reading the post for about 2 weeks now. I do have a question, I go to my seminar Monday Iam so excited! I want to tell everyone but learned that telling everyone will turn me against everything. People dont understand. Anyways, Iam 5'11 278 lbs with high blood pressure and depressed. Iam not happy with me and the way I look and its time to start feeling better about myself so I talked to my doc about the surgery. When I talk to my friends at work all they want to do is talk me against it. So Iam looking to find some new friends here. Iam from Louisville Kentucky just needed to ask is there anyone out there around my size that had the surgery? And if yes how are you? Don't get me wrong I want to talk to everyone but with me being tall (5'11 278lbs) would they consider me? Iam just so confused :help:
~Jules~ 0 Posted October 13, 2006 carmillejoanita, I am 5'11" and 260, so I am pretty close to you and your goals. I have told very few people because so many of my family and aquaintences think you can just cut back and exercise and lose all the weight you want. Of course that is just sssssssooooooo easy. That is why America is so fat. Because it is easy, right?! Whatever. My sister is going with me to get banded on 10/26. She thinks I should tell my parents. I am 41, not 21. I don't think I have to tell anyone that I don't want to. She thinks they will be hurt if they ever find out and I didn't tell them. If that happens, I will deal with that then. I don't want to have to defend my decision nor listen to them try to talk me out of it. Your insurance very well may cover the surgery. Many require 35 BMI with "issues" and you fall into that because of your blood pressure. If they don't cover it, let me know and I will share the info that I have learned in my hours upon hours of research. Unfortunately my insurance coverage has an exclusion clause against weightloss surgery. Due to this, I am going to Mexico for the surgery. I have done a lot of research and personally know someone that went to the doctor that I chose. He is a great doctor and has made a lot of people happy. Anyway, sorry for the book, but just know you are not alone.

~Jules~ 0 Posted October 16, 2006 carmillejoanita, I am so excited I can't stand it. I am so ready for this. My insurance has an exclusion clause, so I am not covered. That is why I am going to Mexico. I did a lot of research and finally chose a doctor. I live in Texas, so this location will be good for me. I am walking out the door right now. I will send you a message when I get home.
~Jules~ 0 Posted October 18, 2006 carmillejoanita, Are you there? How did the seminar go? Did it answer a lot of your questions?
carmillejoanita 0 Posted October 22, 2006 Julies, yes Iam here! The seminar went well. I knew everything they was talking about. I just sent in my paper work in today so hopefully I'll here something in a couple of weeks. I have some doubts but then I talk myself out of them. My friend from work is trying her best to talk me out of this because of our co-worker (that had the band) throwing up at our pizza party. I'll I have to say is don't eat pizza!!!!!!!!!!! I consider that thick bread. Keep in touch
~Jules~ 0 Posted October 22, 2006 She should know better than to eat pizza. At least the bread part is not smart. But you can always just eat the topping. That is certainly what I am going to do. I think that will passify my craving for pizza. I am counting down the days. The 26th is just around the corner. Woo Hoo.
