I can't wait for the date to be scheduled. I'm nervous and excited lol. I've gained another 20lbs back since April and have been so miserable.

Did 3 months since its a revision from the lap band.

So I know it's only been 2 days since I got my approval but I'm dying to hear from my nurse for a surgery date lol! I keep having anxiety attacks over thinking surgery, recovery and fear of failing like i did with the band. Then find my left almost laughing at myself for being silly.

I'm am so blessed and excited to be getting the surgery, this I know but:

Got my surgery date, it's bitter sweet, can't do it till dec 10th. I'm heart broken because doctor had told me that I would be able to do it by thanksgiving and his nurse just said he doesn't know what he has going on.

Also means instead of being almost healed by Christmas that I'm gonna be really sore still

I'm happy to have the date but I'm also bawling because he had my hopes up for this month.

I asked her if she can see if she has any cancelations or anything they can do because all the time I saved up for surgery expires the 21st of December :(

So hoping for a miracle to get it moved up to be able to use my time.

Asherje: you might not be still sore... I had the sleeve. Was in the hospital for 2 days, 6 days total off from work, and went back to work on the 7 day- had no pain. It's going to all work out :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
