It's nerves. Most of us experience it, especially before something like surgery. The odds are on your side - and after being on this site for over a year, I have heard that most people do quite well and feel better than expected after surgery.

I know I did, but I have done well with surgery in the past and had that to gauge by. When I woke up I had a little nausea, but the nurses quickly gave me some meds and it went away. I had a morphine pump next to my bed, and if I needed it I could self administer. I had some discomfort but no excruciating pain at all.

I was home the next day and have no regrets, and it is working. Thank God and my surgeons, it is working!!!

Hi how are you? I was in the same boat you were before my surgery which was November 1st. I was still very anxious even the morning of the procedure as they were prepping me in the hospital that day. But then I realized that I'm doing this for myself, my health & no one else. Once I had that final talk with myself I realized that I'm going to be doing great and I'm in the best surgical teams hands.

I cried the week before. The day before. And the day of my surgery. The jitters are completely normal! I was sleeved on 10/23 and haven't looked back since. Good luck to you! You'll be fine!

Hi There!!

I was sleeved on Oct. 30th in MX... so my nerves were pretty rattled. BUT knowing I had read tons of stories on this forum, I felt pretty prepared for what I was about to go through. I prayed to GOD that I wouldn't have too many complications and I guess he was listening. Day of surgery when I got out, I did have some gas pains in my back and upper chest. My hubby had to pat my back like a baby... looked silly but definitely helped! The pain and nausea meds given to me helped tremendously. By the second day, I was already feeling MUCH better!

Just hang in there! Being nervous is absolutely normal! Just keep thinking good thoughts and how AMAZING you are going to look afterwards. :) GOOD LUCK!!!

The day before surgery is the worst. But for me day of surgery I was completely calm and knew I was doing what was best for me. I am 7months out down over 100 pounds and loving every minute.

I would do it again if the need came up. Overall a very pleasant experience before and after in the hospital. I had some slight complications, but nothing too bad. The surgeons team went all out to make it a good experience from when I checked in until I checked out 5 days later.

Totally normal to have the jitters. I was sleeved oct 22. The day of was the worst for me. Just super anxious. And being a nurse myself, I knew what was going on. After the surgery I had some gas pains and nausea/vomitting but that is how I usually react to anesthesia. You will do fine. Keep your head high. I am down 33 pounds and super happy I did this. You will be too. Good luck!!!!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
