How much wld you say that you take in one day? A tablespoon?

Thanks!

2 tspoons in my pudding. 2-3 in my shakes. If you put 3 tspoons in your shake, you will swallow 2, the rest will be stuck to the inside of the cup. I really like the texture they give to shakes and pudding. Plus they keep me regular.

I buy Endamame in the shells (pods) from Safeway/Target in the frozen veggie isle. Some brands you can steam in the bag and they are already salted- but I prefer to buy it natural and toss in boiling/heavily salted Water for 3 min. I wait until its cooled and eat- eat just the "beans" and toss the pods.

Thanks for the links. Is there a brand that you prefer over another? As these can probably not be fund in the local grocery store, I probably need to hunt down a natural foods store.

You can get them at Walgreens, most health stores and it is possible that Wal Mart carries them now.

I have Cha-Cha-Cha Chia brand. But there are a lot of different brands available.

Endamame virgin here... Where do I buy? How do I prepare??

I buy the freeze dried edamame at Target. It is their Archer Farms brand. 12 grams Protein in 1/2 cup, I measure out 1/4 cup for Snacks.

Do you gel them first, or make it with them hard? I've recently started eating chia seeds and am interested in how others prepare them.

They have absolutely zero taste. They do change the texture of whatever you add them to though. They are like little poppy seeds. But if you allow them to sit in a liquid for 20 minutes or more, they soak up the liquid and become gelatinous. Almost slimy. A lot of people like this gel, but I don't.

Eww..the gel is icky. They do get that way towards the end of my yogurt, though, since they have been in moisture for a while. It doesn't bother me in food. I can't imagine wanting to feel that texture after letting them sit in liquid to gel.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
