Didn't Eat Today & Now Not Hungry.

Recommended Posts

So, this is weird. I was sleeved 8/21. I had a pretty easy time of it. Have been following my plan & eating has been 'normal.' No big problems. Today got away from me and I didn't eat much. That's rare for me. Now tonite, I am not hungry at all and when I tried to eat dinner my stomach turned on me & felt nauseous. Very odd!! Anyone have any clue as to what's going on with my tummy? Thanks!!

Could definitely be the flu. 'Tis the season after all. Or it could be another bug altogether. Or it could be that you didn't eat and so you didn't put your stomach through its normal functions so its now rebelling. Sounds crazy I know, but it does happen.

Probably from not eating..This happened to me and my nutritionist said that is what caused it... mine recommends eating 5-6 times a day.. 3 small meals 3 small Snacks about every 2-3 hours so this doesnt happen. You don't want only acid in your stomach and that will happen when you don't eat all day long :)

Nah, I don't think its the flu. I feel fine other than my tummy. At least I hope it isn't!! This feels more 'sleeve' related, if that makes ANY sense at all!!

Really? Hmmm....this does make more sense than the flu, even if it does sound crazy. Thanks!!

Yes, I usually eat every 2-3 hours. I'm one of those who hasn't lost my appetite. I have no problems getting my Protein, liquids & caloric intake. That's why today was so odd! I felt hungry and put off eating for about an hour while I had appointments. But, then I forgot to eat. Very unlike me! I even carry around Protein Shakes and almonds in case I can't get to a good food supply. This sleeve adventure is a roller coaster ride!!

Thank you for your input. I took my PPI after I read your post. Hopefully it will help me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
