coolmamma73 129 Posted November 6, 2012 I am self pay, and I have heard that there is such as a thing as medical complication insurance if anything should happen after surgery. Does anyone carry this or know who provides this? Thanks!!
Aaron in Tulsa 147 Posted November 6, 2012 My doctor offered it to self-payers from a company called BLIS. Quite expensive so I didn't take it, but it covers all the most common complications.
dexter 205 Posted November 6, 2012 I've been wrestling with getting BLIS as well, but Aaron is right, it's pretty expensive and we self pay folks (contrary to popular belief) are not made of money. So, it comes down to confidence and piece if mind. IF getting supplemental insurance gives you that extra piece of mind, get it. If you feel confident with how things stand, go without. Like I said, I've got a few more days to decide and haven't really made up my mind yet. But it's good to know there is something like BLIS out there for us to choose from. 1 BabyHuey reacted to this
PetraLuxor 83 Posted November 6, 2012 I posted the same question under the insurance thread last week. Someone sent me the website (can't find it) of Four Corners Insurance. The number is 1-800-335-0611. I called and spoke with them very briefly. They sent me an email with info. I'll try to pm it to you. I think there is a policy one can purchase that covers up to 60 days post surgery. I want to say it was around $350.00 but I'm sure. I was in a ruch at the time. I meant to call back today and didn't get a chance. I want to be sure that I'm covered in some way directly after surgery. I'd like it to be longer than 60 days but I'll take what I can get.
