I'm 13 days out too. I probably get 300-400 calories now that I am on full liquids. I noticed that my weight has stalled since I've been eating Soups, which is freaking me out. I was losing 2 pounds a day (week 1), then 1 pound a day and now I've lost and gained the same 1 pound for the last 3 days.

How is your progress?

I just logged my food in MFP. It was less than I thought. 194 calories and I burn 200 walking.

I'm 5 days out. My Breakfast Protein shake is 160 calories.

2 chopped eggs 155 calories

3 oz of salmon 90 calories

3 oz non-fat plain greek yogurt 53 calories

That's 458 calories according to MFP. Interesting that mine is so much more. I realize my doctor is more aggressive when it comes to eating mushy food earlier than others. I was only on liquids for the day of the operation. I'm not even looking at the scale until I see him 2 weeks out so we'll see how this works.

IsB none of what your eating hurts going down? You can never go wrong with all the protien and your calorie intake is still very low. Im sure you will do well.

Wow...I get a little over 600 calories a day...That's 330 in Protein Shakes, V8 juice, tuna, Soup, and Multivitamin and calcium chews. I have never had a problem getting anything down. I do feel restriction and I can only sip, but I stick to a really handy daily schedule that my doc gave me to ensure that I get everything in. Compared to some of you, I kind of feel like a pig...lol

The low calories may be causing ur weight to stall. I was stalled at 247 for 2 weeks (I am 5 weeks post op). I was getting 400-500 cals a day, I upped it to 600 calories now and make sure I get my 8 glasses of Water a day and all my Vitamins and I finally got to 245 after 2 whole weeks!

I spoke with my hubby, who had about a year ago. He said that the stall is normal, but to be sure that I get in my walking, Protein and Water. Today I walked 1.5 miles. I also went to Sprouts grocery store and bought unflavored Protein to add in my Soup. Just these little changes and I am down 1 pound, so I am going to try to stick with it and see where it goes.

My husband uses a Protein powder with 35 grams of protein in 1 scoup. It's called Nu-tek 5. He loves the chocolate flavor but I cannot stand it. http://nuteknutrition.com/ May have to try it though if I can get all that I need for the day with just two scoops.

Best of luck everyone.

Would you mind sharing that schedule? I would be interested in seeing it. I've increased my calories since I started soft foods. I'm at about 800 calories & I gained a pound...I'm wondering if this is too high then.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
